A few weeks ago I asked on my private Facebook for easy bread recipes. I’m tired by the fluffy bread from the stores here and have been thinking about making my own bread (without a bread maker) since long.
But I found it hard to keep going after some fails. So asking for “fool approved” recipes felt the right way to re-start this process. I still have some recipes at hand to try. But I love the below one already.
It’s one that I can prepare within minutes the evening before and just bake the next morning. Adults and kids enjoy it and most ingredients we will all have at hand. I call the recipe the
Super easy quick weekend bread rolls
- 450 grams spelt flour (I use whole wheat flour, couldn’t find spelt here yet)
- 500 ml water
- a big handful of oatmeal
- 15 grams dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon of salt
Stir in a big bowl with a fork, cover it with plastic foil ( with some holes in it)
Put in refrigerator overnight to let it rise ( or for at least 6 hours).
Preheat oven: 220C.
Put some oil on baking plate. Form little balls with 2 eating spoons.
You can make between 14-16 buns.
Simply bake for 15-20 mins.
Set the table, prepare your tea or coffee and the super easy quick weekend bread rolls are ready!
